Solution for the “Back to School Blues”
TURN YOUR BACK TO SCHOOL BLUES INTO YOUR BIG REVEAL!
This year going back to school can be more exciting than ever as you flaunt your new confidence and look.
There are always two sides to any argument. Pertaining to plastic surgery for young adults or teenagers, as a father I completely understand the conservative view some people and parents may have. But as a plastic surgeon that has encountered many young adults in my office for consultations, I have to say that young adults can make the best candidates for plastic surgery.
Benefits of plastic surgery for young adults:
Confidence- We all know how a great haircut or losing 5 pounds can make us feel when we look in the mirror. Great! Happy! Motivated! Energized! Now what if you could experience that feeling every time you looked in the mirror? How do you think that amount of a constant confidence boost would affect your life? For teenagers in high school or young adults in college, they are just at the tail end of their awkward “puberty stage” and possibly still feeling self conscious of some physical features. Plastic surgery can correct those “confidence busters” such as a large nose or ears, a “flat-chest” or excess weight usually with an outpatient procedure that takes about 1 hour.
Safety- Kids are known to be resilient healers because they are young, have lots of energy and are typically in good health. Most teenagers have not picked up any harmful habits such as smoking or drinking which are important factors in having a fast recovery and healing process and a low-risk surgery.
Value- Plastic surgery results are basically forever. If you don’t undergo any physically changing event, your results shouldn’t change. If you have a Rhinoplasty at 17 years old, and as long as there hasn’t been any trauma to your nose, it should have the same great results as when you are 30. Physical changes such as going through pregnancy or weight fluctuations will change your physical appearance whether you are in your teens or in your 40s., and whether you have plastic surgery or not. The point is, the younger you are the greater amount of time you get to enjoy the results. Especially when it comes to Rhinoplasty or nose job procedures, I think they yield the greatest value to teenagers- both physically and emotionally. By time a 17 year old patient is in their 50s, that Rhinoplasty that boosted their self confidence and life will have cost about $100 a YEAR. Now isn’t that a great and valuable investment?!
If you are a young adult or know one that would like to undergo a cosmetic surgery, then it is important to involve the parents. We encourage parents to come will all patients under the age of 18 to the consultation.
