Denise Richards Opens Up About Breast Augmentations in New Book

Denise Richards has written a new book, which her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, has said “rocks!” Along with details about her life and loves, Denise also revealed that it took three breast augmentations before she was happy with her implants.
40-year old Denise Richards has some of the best breast implants in the biz, but apparently it’s taken her years to feel comfortable with them.
In an interview with UsWeekly, Denise reveals she has been through three breast augmentations before being happy with the size of her implants.
“When I was 19, a doctor put in bigger implants than what I asked for. I was in such a hurry to get them that I didn’t research my doctor,” Richards says. “I just thought because they’re a plastic surgeon, they must be good. You have to be your advocate for your own body and ask 100 questions.”
When she went to another doctor to get them replaced, the doctor made them even bigger. “I felt very vulnerable,” she says in Us. “I was getting ready to film [1998's] Wild Things, and I didn’t want to get into a lawsuit with some plastic surgeon. It wasn’t right what the doctor did, but it is what it is.”
But at long last, Denise is happy with the size of her implants. “This is the size I wanted them to look at 19! There’s a long investment with breast implants. They’re not going to last a lifetime and things can go wrong,” she tells Us. “I’m happy with them now, but in a year that could change.”
While most women are happy after an initial procedure, some do decide they want bigger implants.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “It’s not very common for women to have multiple breast augmentation procedures in order for them to achieve a final result that they are happy with. What is common amongst patients that have had a recent breast augmentation is that they wish they had gone a little bit bigger in regards to the size of the implants they chose. After a few months most patients are thrilled with their results and their new breast size. I do not feel that Breast Augmentation is a long term investment because most patients only have to undergo one surgery, but I do think it is a good investment with long term benefits.”
Denise seems to be happy and healthy and that’s what is important.
